Rental Facilities

     The Fines Creek Community Center houses the largest enclosed spaces available for community use.  The gym contains over 6500 square feet of open floor space with six 600 square foot classrooms on the sides.  On the north side is a small, raised, indoor stage.  Behind this stage is the large outdoor stage that overlooks a concrete pad which is used as a dance floor during the annual Bluegrass Jam.

     The kitchen/cafeteria is located behind the main brick building.  The cafeteria space can easily seat 100 people.  The kitchen retains the former heated serving units used during school days.  Within the kitchen are a stove, refrigerator, freezer, ovens, sink and other components used for serving meals to large groups.

     The kitchen received the designation of a USDA level one commercial kitchen.  This designation allows an individual to make certain products for resale in the kitchen.  A kitchen manager handles the oversight of kitchen use, since the level one designation requires specific procedures to be followed.

     The facilities are available for community use.  A small fee is charged to cover utilities and insurance.  See Attached Fee Schedule.

Rental Fees for Fines Creek Community Center

 

GYM

$ 25 for 2 hours

$  5  for each additional hour

PLUS $ 5 charge per hour for use of heat

 

CAFETERIA

$ 25 for 2 hours

$  5 for each additional hour

PLUS $ 5 charge per hour for use of heat

 

CAFETERIA & KITCHEN

$ 50 for 2 hours

$ 5 for each additional hour

PLUS $ 5 charge per hour for use of heat

 

$100 charge for use of each building during benefit

 

     Each group is responsible for set up appropriate to the activities of the group.  Use of FCCA’s furniture and durable goods is permitted.  Damages are the responsibility of the renting group.  Clean-up and trash removal are responsibilities of the renting group.

 

Reservations for building use must be made in advance.  Availability of use can be checked by accessing calendar on www.finescreek.org .  The individual making the reservation must leave a name and a phone number for contact. 

 

     Arrangements to decorate for an event must be approved prior to the event.  Preparation for an event must not infringe on another group’s scheduled use of the building.

 

     Payment may be made to Fines Creek Community Association, PO Box 992, Lake Junaluska, NC 28745 within one week after the event.

Cooking in the Mountains
